Auto Insurance Driving Someone Else’s Car

Is it true that you need auto insurance, even if you don’t have a car, just to drive someone else’s car?

I’m about to turn 17 and I just got my linense. I don’t have a car, but I heard that I still need to have auto insurance to drive anyone’s car. Is this true in the state of Illinios?

Nate has the perfect answer for you.

Auto Insurance Explanation

Do you agree that drivers in Phoenix are very rude?

I guess that auto insurance companies in Arizona must give discounted premiums (or some other bonus incentives) to drivers who succeed in splattering a pedestrian’s intestines on their hood and windshield. There must be no other explanation.

I’ve lived here in AZ for a year and have almost gotten run over (”knocked down” as they would say in Britain) many times by drivers who showed no intentions of slowing down for me as I tried to cross a street, although some were generous enough to swerve out the way and miss me by inches.

While I do agree with you about people’s driving habits, I can’t say pedestrians have been much better. I understand that a lot of places back East, the pedestrian has the right of way, regardless. But here there is a thing called Jaywalking. And I can’t tell you HOW many times I have seen people just dart out in the middle of the road because they don’t want to walk down to the cross walk either.

So yeah, I just think it’s a combination of both things, rude drivers and careless pedestrians!
