Mexican Auto Insurance San Diego

Mexican Auto Insurance. I am renting a car in Cancun for a week.?

I dont want to buy the insurance from the rental agency. Can I get it from another agency like they offer in San Diego?

Mexican auto insurance does pay, I know because I live in Mexico and have used it. If you rent from an international agency like Hertz and you have other insurance, you do not have to buy their insurance, however, if there is a problem, you will have to deal with the Mexican insurance company, etc. and if you are on vacation, it is not worth the hassle.
