Auto Accident pleaaassse HELP!!!?

I just got into an accident yesterday =( but my boyfriend was driving!!! and I currently dont have insurance =(..I didnt make the payment in time so it got terminated!!! It was actually the other parties FAULT for the accident. I got an off duty officer as a witness..however the adjuster from the other party is trying to say that if we dont have insurance the driver of my car will lose their license..is that true?? Can anybody please help me out..and give me advice of the next step and what would be a good idea on what to do next???? This is my first accident and Im in California!!! Anything would HELP…..
