Motorcycle Insurance No License

If I have a motorcycle license, but no bike (and no bike insurance), can I ride my friend’s bike and be ok?

I have auto insurance, but no bike yet, so I have no motorcycle insurance. If I ride my friend’s bike, will his insurance cover me? Or does my auto insurance cover me? Or am I not covered unless I have motorcycle insurance? Can you even get motorcycle insurance without a bike?
I’m in San Diego.

Your auto insurance won’t cover.
Check with your friend about his policy. That’s the only way to know if his will.

My policy covers me and passengers.
Covers me on someone else’s motorcycle.
Covers any licensed operator I give permission to (like that ever happens!!)
