Auto Insurance Claims Process

Auto Insurance Claims Process
Car Accident Settlement Question?

I am in the process of settling an insurance claim for an auto accident in WI. The other party was 100% at fault, my auto was a total loss, and the other party’s insurance company has accepted liability for the incident.

As part of my settlement figure, I was told to include an amount for “loss of use of vehicle.” Can anyone help me out with what this is?

I was told it is compensation for not being able to use the vehicle from the date of the accident to the date my insurance company offered me settlement for my totaled vehicle. Is this true?

Will my having a second vehicle available for use after the accident occurred affect this?

How many days and what dollar amount per day should I request?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

get a quote from a rental company for that amount of days, you were still without a car at the fault of their insured, therefore inconvenienced and should be compensated regardless of your situation
