Which Auto insurance is BEST for Me?

I live in Maryland and I just got my learner’s permit. I have to get auto insurance before I can regester my car at the MVA or I will get a penilty. I am independant, and I have no one else to really help in this catagory. is it posible to get insurance with a learner’s permit? If so, how, and which company?

You may want to talk to an independent agent – as opposed to a captive agent.

A captive agent is one that sells insurance for just one company (State Farm, Nationwide, Allstate).

An independent agent is licensed to sell for several companies (although not the same companies a captive agent sells for). Independent agents will frequently sell for companies like Progressive, Hartford, Travelers. But since an independent agent has access to more companies -they can check with each and find the one that is best for you.
